Food Bank Outreach

CFUW Etobicoke has supported the Daily Bread Food Bank for many years in various ways, including direct monetary donation by the club, personal donations by members and through the volunteer hours worked by our Food Bank Outreach group.

We currently volunteer at Daily Bread Food Bank, generally the 3rd Monday of the month. We fill the slots allocated by the food bank on a first come – first served basis. Participants must be vaccinated. Masks are optional, on there first visit members are asked to bring proof of vaccination and a piece of I.D. and wear close-toed shoes.

We are open to suggestions for other volunteer opportunities in our community. Please contact Susan Clark.

Canadian Red Cross – Meals on Wheels

Would you like to volunteer for the Meals On Wheels program in Etobicoke? The Red Cross provides dietary and nutritional support for people in our community. You would also be providing security checks for the vulnerable clients who are often isolated. Clients include seniors,  older adults and those with chronic illness and/or physical disabilities.

The MOW program is looking for drivers. You would be using your own vehicle and would be reimbursed for gas mileage.  Delivery times are between 11:00 am and 1:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Please contact Carmela Cobham if you are interested in joining and giving to this wonderful service in the Etobicoke community.

Our Mission is to continue to enhance our role as a national, bilingual, independent organization striving to promote equality, social justice, fellowship and lifelong learning for women and girls.
